Look at the date of my last post and you will realise that it been almost two years since I blog.... No excuses, most of the time it's simply because i was too lazy ha.... Anyway, a lot has passed in this 2 years and maybe I will talk about it some other day. For those who don't know, I'm currently having my practicum in Chua Chu Kang Secondary School. Its still too soon to say how it is but i will get to that sooner or later. A bit disappointed that I wasn't posted back to Fuhua but no point brooding over it. Hope my students there are well and doing good. Anyway this post is just here to help me get started on blogging again after complaints of my blog being orphaned... Feel free to leave a tag... if there are still people viewing this patch of my life. :)

首先，如果还有人不定时的到映之心影看看的话，我先说声抱歉。自从上一次的更新已经过了好几个月了。。。一直有着向大家说说我近况的念头。。。虽然想说找不到时间，最终也只能归就到个“懒”字吧。。哈哈。。。

先告诉你们我这几个月过得怎样。“充实”。“充实”对每个人的定义都不一样。有些人觉得需要把整天的时间都用的一滴不剩才算“充实”。。对我而言，时间过的不一定要紧凑。但是要过得实在。自从我在大学的最后一次考试以后，这两个多月的“最后假期”过得很快。不是和朋友出门，上上网，看些从前没时间看的书，就是陪陪父母家人到处吃吃喝喝。。也签了签在某些人眼里可能属于“魔鬼约定”的一年份和约。。。呵呵。。当然，其余的时间就是和玲一起度过的。。。

平心而论，我和家人的相处和睦但不热烈。。不是说“家”在我心目中不重要。只是往往把他们当作了理所当然。自从懂事后，随着成长，社交圈子越来越广。和家人一起的时间自然缩短。。有时候可能会有“友先家后”的想法。。幸好这不多。现在长大了，看着父母逐渐的衰老，心里就有了些愧疚感。。现在能够做的就是尽量得多陪陪他们。。很庆幸能够理解到现在的心情。。除了心境的成长外，最大的启发应该就是在看到玲与他家人之间完全不同的相处方式吧。。孝顺孝顺。。。“顺”容易但“孝”可就不简单了。。

和玲在一起的这大半年，我只能用“幸福满足”这四个字来形容。俗是俗了一点，但字浅意深。。另一伴，另一半。。我现在才懂得。。。luabby @@ labby

以帮忙凑办了一个全国性质的地理比赛划下了我大学生活的句号。。凑办活动虽然很忙，但也让我明白人在一个团体中的各种行为。没经历过你还真不知道每个人在处理事情的方式与看法是那么不同。遇到志同道合的同伴最好，要不然可又罪受了。。这也就是我将来在职场的一个写照吗。。？

今天是我正式任教来的一个礼拜了。虽说正式，但我可是一点训练都没有就被送了进去。。^^ll 学校环境还好，同事们也很有善。刚好有一位和我一样港任教的教师可以作伴。。哈。。虽说我多多少少作了一些心理准备，上课时还是给了我一个小惊讶。。普通课程的班级真得很混乱。比《小孩不笨》里还乱。。很吵。很乱。喊都没有人在听。很同情在教课的老师。我只是坐在后面都觉得无奈。。就算对课本身没有兴趣，至少也应该对站在前面的老师有意思的尊重吧。。（现在想起以前Kelvin Tan的状况就觉得有点不好意思。。只是一点。。。哈哈。。）到处乱跑，高声叫喊，东西丢来丢去，对老师要睬不睬，这也太恐怖了吧。。幸好也就那一班那么严重。其它班级多少都还乖些。。当然，并不是一切都是坏的。有时与这些“小大人”的沟通还挺有趣的。。只是面对他们是需要多一些耐心而已。希望过了这个星期把琐碎的事情都定下来后，能够更投入工作里。。我还有好几个月的时间来决定到底要不要长期加入这个行业。。希望我能找到一个答案。

讲了这么多也应该够了。。P.S. 4K 的三八婆三八公们，我们也好久没出来了。看那一天大家有空就出来吃个饭吧。^^还有我们的“十年纪念旅行”到底可能实现吗？

Its been a long while since I update... This 2 months have really been busy.. Well, good stuff has been happening so hectic school stuff ain't really dragging my mood down.^^ First thing to do is to post pics for 4K chalet which was so happening! Won't say much since its just an update post for people who can't make it... Look at the pics!

Mentoring is coming to an end soon... How i wish i could get wh to response more positively..sigh... The best thing out of this programme is actually the mentors haha.... Gonna grad soon... Seriously need to think on what to do... Do i think that i can handle kids if i go on the teaching path...hmm...

Another year older in a few days time... This said, I dun really feel the age... unless someone calls me uncle..@@ Age has become just a number to me... it has no bearing on whatever I do and from what I've seen, it is also a really poor criteron for judging a person's maturity...

Looking at the papers, you see that it has almost become a norm for us to read about murder and killing and suicide... depressing society.... I realised the newsworthiness of these stuff but is there a rule that states that News couldn't be good news? Whats wrong with reporting on the good stuff that happens to people?

Went to see this Master Khor the Palmist... seems he's affilated with SDU@@... Anyway, some of the stuff he says is quite accurate but some is not... my opinion anyway...^^ maybe there's something to all these astrology and stuff after all...

Bits and pieces on my life...may elaborate on them further in the future... but given the disgusting deadlines and exams... it may be awhile...

十二月的心情。。。

将近一个月没有写东西了。这个月里过得相当忙碌。。去了Sentosa，chalet，mentor camp，庆祝了朋友的生日，和老同学聚了几次，把房间来了个大整修。。。零零碎碎的琐事占据了一大半的时间。。还有就是那一件事情让我把其他的精力都放在了他的身上。。。

当我们接触到了一个新的东西时，难免会有一些五味八杂的心情。害怕，期待，提心吊胆，失望，兴奋，快乐。。这些都可能感受到。我很庆幸我在这一个月里经历了所有的的一切。。现在似乎正在步向一个美好的中站。。能够感受这整个过程是一生难忘的经验。我希望看到这段话的各位不要对新的人或事感到抗拒。因为就算结果不是你想看到的，至少你经历过也感动过。。至少不会留下什么遗憾。。。

参加Student Mentoring Programme 的时候我虽然没有太大的希望能够对这些中学生带来很大的变化，可总也有那一点点期望能跟他们建立一丝的关系。我只能说在这件事上我不是很成功。。但是我会继续加油的。至少在这次的camp 里我对他们其中几人有了较深的了解。当然，交了好几位朋友也是这次camp 的收获之一。

在Sentosa 我做了一件很久没做过的事情。夜探鬼屋。。哈哈。。。不知道是不是年纪大了。。竟然没有感觉到那该有的恐惧感。。唉。。。。。。也有可能是因为我们根本连鬼屋都没看到的关系。。？？哈哈！！有两位“小女生”胆子太小了。。哈哈。。再来就是没想到一顿夜宵就把我和另几个“探险家”打入了谷底深渊。。。。To Karen: this part’s especially in English for you…Dun condemn me for Jalan Kayu incident anymore!!! 。。也发现了我们之中的一位女孩的魅力真是无法挡！呵呵。。

4K 的老同学们！希望我们能够继续这样走下去！很期待过几个月的chalet以及那个“十周年纪念旅行”哈哈。。。再读书的，我们一起加油。。再找工作的，慢慢找，一定找得到的。。在工作的，希望一切顺利！或者。。。早日脱离苦海吧。。哈哈哈！！！ 映之心影

Went for a “talk” last night. Turned out to be a celebration of an association’s ….belief. Show’s average but the company’s great… Was inspired to give some thoughts on religious stuff but was seriously advised not to…so… <shrugs>

The past few weeks have been hell for most of NUS students. The exam periods see fellow mature undergraduates “camping” in the various libraries doing the final stretch for their “continuous” hard work culminating into several booklets of paper. Or in some cases, just carbon on a relatively nice piece of orange paper… … I said MOST… yeah… peeps from Eng, Sci and even the “ARTS DISCIPLINE” of Econs will have an inkling of what I’m about to say… … Not representing the entire cohort…especially not Econs… I would say that Arts student have a relatively easier time at exams compared to the rest of the drowning masses… Especially if you have chosen the right modules… Take me for instance. This semester see me having 2 essay exams and 3 MCQ exams…granted 1 of the MCQ isn’t as easy as I thought but on the whole I don’t really feel the pressure of the exams… maybe it’s also because my grades probably won’t qualified me for a honours year… This whole paragraph’s purpose is just to spite those peeps that worked their butts off and glorify those that got great returns because of it. As for those eligible for the former and not the latter… <shrugs>

Kudos to the ingenuity of NUS students… I didn’t buy a textbook that was prescribed to a module and supposedly its ‘good to have’ since its an open book exam….Smiling inwards days before the paper, I thought that I can just borrow the book from RBR and make it an overnight loan. At the most I would just be fined a couple of bucks compared to the staggering cost of that stack of bound paper… Little do I know that this smart alec idea that I had was not so smart after all… tons of people had the same idea. As a result, you see a crowd of people all round the counters in the various libraries. This doesn’t account for my salutation to these fellow alecs.. What comes next does…. 1 alec on the phone…: “…hey my side here the books all taken. The com says your side got someone return already. Help me borrow. I will call XXX to stop waiting at biz library…” Y.T.

Just saw this documentary about children abandoning their parents on Channel 8… It just makes me realize that there are really all types of people around…. The concept of abandoning your own parents is just… wrong. What could possibly make these “children” do such a thing? Some may assign filial piety to Asian culture.. but I think there’s no borders to this loving your parents… some may not express this love overtly… I for one confess to this… but deep down I know I love them.. I can’t help but to despise these “children”… Y.T.

Looked up my horoscope last night because someone said I'm very Aries... turned out it was quite accurate on some parts... ONLY some parts.... .... How is it that people borne near the same period of time of the year share similar traits? Just because that a certain planet millions of miles away is "above" you when you were born? How scientific is that?? Ancient people justified it as a science by making charts of stars and heaven...calculating longitude & latitude with relation to distances from planets.... modernity termed it "astrology".... .... Personally I think its just a bunch of hocus pocus... not that I don't belive in it... there's just that bit more accuracy to what it says than what I would considered as crap... The thing is why is there a need to "scientify" it? Isn't it better to leave it as.... for lack of a more proper term, an "art" rather than a "science"... From a friend: people that belive in horoscope and stuff are just romantics in their heart, no matter what they claimed... Y.T.

First thing that came to my mind when I decided to start this blog is... why? Do I have a need to tell the whole world about myself? Can't I find something else better to do? Especially when the exams are coming up in about 3 weeks time... ... maybe its a moment of weakness... a certain thing is stressing me out this few days and it probably won't be resolved as quickly as I hoped for... but I'm praying for a positive outcome... begging would be more right since the certain deity that I’m comfortable with would most probably see ??? at this English post... For someone that had never written his personal thoughts down before, this exercise on the keyboard came surprisingly easy...
maybe its just because I need an outlet to release everything's that bottled up... more on these stuff later....

Speaking of languages, I found it perplexed, if not surprised, at the Singaporean blogs I've visited... Agreed, that English is the more common medium of communication among the net yuppies but what about Mandarin? Or all Mother Tongue for that matter... At least to me and most friends around me the most comfortable language we converse in is Mandarin, albeit it’s the singlish version... So why don't I see anyone writing their thoughts in Chinese? Granted the typing is hell... and the truth is most Singaporeans grasp of the language is at the most superficial level... but I think the same applies to English... people may be more fluent in it but how many are there who can really take the further step and express themselves in the language? Maybe it’s just me but I believe to be able to say that I'm proficient in a language means you must at least have the most basic literary mastery... otherwise isn't it just a tool like hand signs? Just much faster.... Think I'm rambling too much about this and I'm sure lots of people don't agree with me.. This whole paragraph is just to explain to my readers...if there are any... that I may write in Chinese occasionally since I feel that I can express myself in it much better... and it’s a beautiful language after all... This blog would not be regular I think... it may have entries everyday or between weeks.... it all depends....

Ok now that the housekeeping matter's over, ( I don't know why I need to explain all these stuff since this blog would most probably get few visitors... but its just my nature haha...) let's talk about stuff. Something that I've been thinking before the school semester and that’s sort of creeping back now is the aim in life... this may sound very philosophical but really, what is it? Here in Singapore, most of us have been doing the paper chase for as long as we can remember and while learning is good, it’s only partially the reason we do it. People tell me a degree's good to help me land a job and with a good job come the means to support myself and blah blah blah.... But before all that, what's our purpose in life? The guys who played mahjong with me (yes...I play mahjong...and I think about stuff ok?) may remember me uttering the phrase生无可恋。。。 Of course, I don't have any suicidal intent... what I meant then was there's no specific thing I can affixed my purpose in life to at that point in time...( see the beauty of Chinese words? haha...?) I used to think that being the only intelligent species on the planet, there must be something that we are suppose to do instead of arguing among ourselves and fighting all the time... ain't there a higher purpose to life? Are we just suppose to just live out our lives and that’s it？I found that rather unsettling and till now I can't find something that really fits my idea of life's purpose..... so settling for something much less dramatic, I'm thinking of making that impact someplace else... maybe in the teaching realm.... Think I will touch on that and other stuff some other time.... Don't wanna bore you people with all the things in my head at one go.... .... this is the easiest 1000 words I've come to in my whole university life... why can't writing papers be this easy.... Y.T.
